Making Tax Digital: 436,000 have filed their first quarterly update

MTD for Income Tax has been live since April for anyone with qualifying income over £50,000. HMRC says more than 436,000 sole traders and landlords got their first quarterly update in, and the next deadline is 7 November.

For those of you in it already: what software did you land on, and did the quarterly update actually take you ten minutes or half a Sunday?

And for anyone between £30,000 and £50,000 — you are in from April 2027, so this year is the free run at it.
