House rules
Short version: it's a site canteen, not a shop floor scrap.
Who it's for
People who work in the UK trades — on the tools, running a van, or running a small firm. Apprentices and people a year in are welcome and should ask the basic questions. Everyone was there once.
Answer like you'd want answering
- Numbers beat opinions. “I charged £480 for that in Bristol in June” is worth ten “charge what it's worth”.
- Say where you are. Prices and inspectors differ from one end of the country to the other.
- If you're guessing, say you're guessing.
What gets removed
- Abuse, racism, and pile-ons. First warning, then a ban.
- Advice that would leave someone with unsafe work or an uncertified installation.
- Advertising. One link in your profile is fine. Dropping your website into six threads isn't.
- Lead-generation companies fishing for members. Instant ban.
- Naming and shaming a customer, with their address, number or full name.

Everything here is a tradesperson's opinion, not a certified design, a legal opinion, or a substitute for the current regs. Check the standard, check with building control, and check your insurance. You are responsible for your own work.
Moderation
Every post and reply has a Report link. Reports go to a moderator, not into a void. You can delete anything you have written at any time; deleted posts stop being visible immediately.
Your account
The community uses the same login as the TradeLinkers app, but you do not need to be a TradeLinkers customer to take part and never will. Members who run their business on the app get a small badge next to their name. That's the only difference.
